1. Cookies and storage/access technologies
Cookies are small files stored by a browser. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, scripts, tags, link decoration and device-fingerprinting techniques. The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) apply when a website stores information on, or gains access to information stored on, a user's device.
Where the information involved is personal data, UK data-protection law may apply as well.
2. Technologies currently used on this website
Name / technologyPurposeCategoryTypical duration
WordPress administrator cookiesAuthentication, security and administration for logged-in WordPress users. Ordinary public visitors do not need an account.Strictly necessarySession / WordPress-defined
Hosting and security technologiesEssential delivery, load balancing, abuse prevention or firewall functions may be used by the hosting/security infrastructure.Strictly necessary / securityProvider-dependent

The public pricing calculator performs its calculations in the browser and does not need advertising cookies.
3. When consent is needed and the current UK exceptions
PECR generally requires clear information and prior consent for storage/access technologies unless an exception applies. Current UK law includes exceptions for transmission of communications, technologies strictly necessary for a requested service, qualifying statistical purposes, qualifying appearance/functionality purposes, and emergency assistance.
The statistical and appearance/functionality exceptions are narrow. Where relied on, visitors must receive clear and comprehensive information and a simple, free means to object. They do not provide a general exemption for advertising, profiling or individual tracking.
Current configurationNo optional analytics, advertising pixels or behavioural tracking scripts are enabled by the GAM Tax website package by default.
4. Third-party services and links
The site links to services such as WhatsApp. Merely displaying a normal external link does not require the third-party service to load on this website. If you follow the link, the third party's own site/app and privacy/storage practices apply. Embedded third-party tools added in future may set their own technologies and must be reviewed before launch.
5. How to control stored information
You can delete or block cookies and local storage through your browser or device settings. Private-browsing modes may also clear local data when the session ends. Blocking technologies that are genuinely necessary can prevent parts of a site or administrator login from working correctly.
If the site later relies on the statistical-purpose or appearance/functionality exception, it will provide a simple way to object. If technologies requiring consent are introduced, they must remain inactive until the required choice has been made.
6. Updates and contact
This policy should be reviewed whenever the website's hosting, analytics, embedded content, marketing tools or plugins change. Questions can be sent to info@gamtax.co.uk. See the Privacy Policy for information about personal data.
